Twenty One Pilots ist ein US-amerikanisches Musikerduo aus Columbus im Bundesstaat Ohio. Die Band wurde im Jahr 2009 gegründet und besteht aus Tyler Joseph und Josh Dun. Bevor die Band vom Plattenlabel Fueled by Ramen 2013 einen Plattenvertrag bekam, veröffentlichte sie selbst im Jahr 2009 das Album Twenty One Pilots und 2011 das Album Regional at Best. Der Großteil der Lieder von Twenty One Pilots besteht aus einem Mix aus Klavier, Synthesizer, Schlagzeug und Gesang. Dabei ist es schwer, die Band einem spezifischen Genre zuzuordnen, da sie sehr viele Elemente einzelner Genres vereint. Allerdings wird die Band von ihren Fans mit „Schizophrenic Pop“ beschrieben.
